What the?!?!?!?!

I came across this post in Advertising/Design Goodness a while back about a print ad by BBDO Guerrero Ortega for Childhope Asia Philippines. The print ad’s tagline was “Give street children more to look forward to.” Someone who posted a commnet had this to say:

...they don’t make too much sense. why would kids sleep out in the open sidewalk right by the road? wouldn’t they sleep in an alley under an awning away from the rain? or under a tree in a park or someones yard?

and why do poor kids in the philippines need a swimming pool?

they really didn’t think this idea through.

What the?!?!?

Well… to be fair I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. He must not know much about the Philippines and is viewing it from an ad agency perspective.
