SCRATCH #1: pocket organizer
Here’s something that would be useful, not just for anyone, but for nonprofit professionals as well. Head on over to pocketmod and make a disposable pocket organizer.
Remeber to use scratch paper when printing it out. This is a good opportunity to use all of that used/discarded paper lying around the office.
Asking the right questions
Great find from Beth’s Blog about whether or not nonprofits should adopt the latest online technology for their advocacy programs. Read it here.
Help from Hawaii
Poor families in Paco, Manila are getting help from the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation in the form of a program called Healthy Start.
Healthy Start is a program designed to promote healthy childhood growth and development and prevent child abuse and neglect.
The program is being run in the area with the help of a local group called Families and Children for Empowerment and Development Inc. (FCED). The article states that they have sent people from FCED to Hawaii to learn about Healthy Start.

Fil-Am doctors come home for medical mission
Physicians for Peace are sending a group of Fil-Am doctors to the Philippines for a medical mission.
It’s always good to hear news about our kababayans coming home to help out. Although I do wish they would stay for good.
